All About EDCOM

EDCOM CEO As Educational Community Credit Union's new President/CEO I'd like to invite you, our members, to contact us anytime with your thoughts and ideas for improving the products and services we provide. We believe it is critical to actively involve our membership in decisions regarding change because you are the owners of the credit union. It is this cooperative and collaborative philosophy that makes credit unions different from banks. We have a proactive management team that has been a key to our success; however, we feel it is equally important to hear from you, our members, detailing how we might improve our services.

Flexibility, adaptability and constant process improvement are necessary in order to survive as a viable, non-profit, financial institution focused on the fiscal well being of our membership. Our willingness to commit resources to our members for the purpose of healthy financial growth will always be part of our mission. I want to assure you that we understand our responsibility to balance the effectiveness of emerging technologies with first class service. Look for us to reshape the current website and add more functional features allowing for 24 hour access, which you have requested. In addition, we will continue to work towards providing more one-on-one personal service.

Educational Community Credit Union is a vibrant cooperative organization characterized by a strong staff, a dedicated membership, and solid potential for future success. Please feel free to contact me anytime at to share your comments and ideas. You will find that we take your comments very seriously and will respond back as quickly as possible. Thank you for choosing Educational Community Credit Union as your financial institution.

Mark W. Morrison

Membership Benefits

You may wonder what are the benefits of belonging to a credit union. Well, credit unions are not-for-profit. We give consumers the choice of ownership. Credit unions are owned by the people they serve, called "members". Unlike banks, they exist solely to serve their members, not to enrich an outside group of stockholders.

We serve educational groups and their families, Small Employer Groups (SEGs) and their families. Also, as of October 2002, EDCOM's field of membership expanded to include all Washington state residents.

Membership Eligibility

If you belong to any of our educational groups or SEGs or if you have a family member that is or becomes a member, you're qualified to join. Also, as of October 2002, all residents of the state of Washington were eligible to join EDCOM.
